White Gold: The Fascinating History of Thassian Marble
When you walk through the corridors of Calma Living or explore the island's capital, you will notice a brilliant, sparkling white stone. This is the world-famous Thassian Marble. Since antiquity, this "white gold" has been exported to build temples, statues, and monuments across the globe.
The history of the island is carved into this stone. Visiting the ancient quarries at Aliki is like stepping back in time—you can still see the half-finished columns submerged in the crystal-clear water. At Calma Living, our design pays homage to this heritage. We use the brightness of the local stone to reflect the Greek sun, creating interiors that feel cool, airy, and timeless. It’s not just construction; it’s a connection to thousands of years of island history.

Located in Potos in the Thassos region, Calma Living has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, terrace and free WiFi. It is 800 metres from Potos Beach and 1.5 km from Alexandra Beach.
